A New Venture
Step 1 - To breed or not to breed ? We had always intended taking our family from the three to probably 6. Question was - how. Do we buy them all, or breed from our current queens. What a big decision to make, to breed or not to breed. When we bought our first bengal kittens and brought them home in June 2004, the intent was for them all to be pets. Indeed none were on the active register so breeding was not possible. Then events happened (see AlleyKatz for the history) and we ended up with a beautiful snow marble female on the active register, and the thought was seeded in our head.
However these kittens were brought in as pets and lived with us as family, depending on each other so much for company. Or maybe what was more the case, our mindset was not in it to breed from any of these. After many long discussions the first step has been made - the request to purchase two new kittens as potential queens, one a brown rosette, the other a silver. There were two girls in each of these litters both of whom were going to be progressed as queens - so next even more agonising decision - which ones to select. Meet the parents .....
| Immediate Pedigree of the Brown Rosettes | |
| Starwinds Salladhor of Chataya (Sarny) |
Zawadi Kahawa (Maxy). |
| Immediate Pedigree of the Silvers | |
| Aluren Platinum Plus of Chataya (Plat) |
Chataya Kamakaze Kate (Katy) |
Looking ahead, it is envisaged that the brown queen will be mated with Plat, and the silver with Sarny - hopefully resulting in some mega kittens. Judging by their parents and the queens themselves this will be something worth waiting for.
